一般来说，我们新到一个单位的时候都会表现得谨小慎微、礼貌有加，生怕会说错话、办错事，得罪人。有这种表现的人应该都有new guy gene（新人基因）吧。

New guy gene is the internal mechanism that triggers extra politeness in new employees until they're up-to-speed on office politics.

新人基因（new guy gene）指新入职的员工自带的一种本能反应，让其在新的工作环境表现得更加有礼貌，直到他们能完全了解所在办公室的形势。

Example:

The new guy is so rude. He just busted in on my conversation without a second thought. He totally lacks the new-guy gene.

那个新来的家伙太无理了。他没头没脑地就打断我跟别人说话。完全没有一点新人基因。
