列举 (līè jǔ)

Enumeration

我有很多朋友，有的是公司职员，有的当老师，有的是工人。

(wǒ yǒu hěn duō péng yǒu，yǒu de shì gōng sī zhí yuán，yǒu de dāng lǎo shī，yǒu de shì gōng rén.)

I have many friends. Some of them are clerks of companies, some are teachers, and some are workers.

我学汉语的理由有两个： 第一，我对汉语感兴趣； 第二，学完后，我希望能找一个好工作。

(wǒ xué hàn yǔ de lǐ yóu yǒu liǎng gè：dì yī，wǒ duì hàn yǔ gǎn xìng qù； dì èr，xué wán hòu，wǒ xī wàng néng zhǎo yī gè hǎo gōng zuò.)

I study Chinese for two reasons: One is that I am interested in it; the other is that I hope I can find a good job after I graduate.

我买这本书，一是因为它便宜，二是因为它实用。

(wǒ mǎi zhè běn shū，yī shì yīn wéi tā biàn yí，èr shì yīn wéi tā shí yòng.)

I bought this book because it’s practical and cheap.

我家有两台电脑，一台是手提的，一台是桌式的。

(wǒ jiā yǒu liǎng tái diàn nǎo，yī tái shì shǒu tí de，lìng yī tái shì zhuō shì de.)

I have two computers at home. One is a laptop, the other is a desktop.
