基础英文──借钱

jack and betty are friends. jack is having trouble making ends meet and is visiting betty to see if she could lend him some money.

jack和betty两人是朋友。jack有些入不敷出，所以去拜访betty看看是否能够借点钱给他。

betty: jack! this is a nice surprise! how have you been?

betty：jack！怎么来啦！你最近过得如何？

jack: not too good. actually, that’s why i’m here. i need a favor.

jack：不太好。事实上，我过来的原因就是这个。我需要人帮个忙。

betty: what is it? is everything okay?

betty：是什么忙？你还好吗？

jack: well, i’m a little short on cash. i spent all my money on this new cell phone last week.

jack：这个嘛，我手头有点紧。我上个礼拜花了所有积蓄买了这支新手机。

betty: jack! you should know better than to spend all your money!

betty：jack！你明知不能花光所有钱的呀！

jack: i know, but i just couldn’t resist buying it. anyway, i was wondering if you could lend me some money. i promise i’ll pay you back on my next payday.

jack：我知道，但是我就是无法抗拒买下它的诱惑。总之，不晓得你是否愿意借点钱给我。我保证会在下次领到薪水的时候还你。

betty: fine. how much do you need?

betty：好吧。你需要多少？

jack: i just need nts2,000.

jack：只要两千就够了。

betty: are you sure you can get by with only nts2,000? come on, we both know how much you spend on eating out every day!

betty：你确定只要两千就够了吗？拜托，我们都心知肚明你每天花多少钱在外食上！

jack: it’s fine. i’ll live on instant noodles for the next two weeks.

jack：那还好啦。我接下来就吃两个礼拜泡麵就好。

betty: all right, if you say so.

betty：好吧，如果你这么说的话。
