英语──看医生

grace has been feeling very tired lately. she has been feeling dizzy after getting up in the morning and having trouble falling asleep at night. for this reason, she decided to see her general practitioner (gp) today.

grace这阵子突然觉得很累，尤其是早上起床后都会有点头晕，晚上睡觉时又常常失眠睡不著，她今天来到家庭医学科求诊。

gp: hi, what’s the matter?

医生：哪里不舒服呢？

grace: i’ve been feeling very tired lately. i don’t feel any discomfort or pain though. just sleepy all the time.

grace：我最近觉得很累，但也没有哪里特别怪怪的，整天人都很昏沉。

gp: how long has this been going on?

医生：这样已经多久了呢？

grace: about two or three weeks.

grace：大约有两三个星期了。

gp: have you experienced a loss of appetite?

医生：那你的食欲有减退吗？

grace: not really, but i haven’t been eating as much for breakfast as i used to.

grace：食欲没什么减退，但是早餐的食量没以前大。

gp: have you had any trouble sleeping?

医生：那睡眠情况如何？

grace: i start to get sleepy after 9. but when i do go to bed, i just can’t seem to fall asleep.

grace：到晚上九点多就会想睡觉，但是一躺到床上，就又睡不著。

gp: is there anything bothering you lately? like at work, home or in you relationship?

医生：最近有发生什么事吗？比方说工作、家里或感情上？

grace: not really. everything’s the same as usual.

grace：这倒是没有，一切都很平常，没什么特别的事。

gp: you do look quite tired. i’ll tell you what, i’ll arrange for you to do a medical check-up first.

医生：你看起来是有些疲累的状况，这样好了，我先帮你安排健康检查。

grace: a medical check-up? will it take long?

grace：健康检查？那会很久吗？

gp: we’ll run some basic tests like blood and urine tests first. it’ll take about two hours because we need to wait for the test results to come out. further tests will only be arranged if necessary.

医生：我们会先进行血液与尿液等基础测试。检查大概会花两个小时，因为要等候测试结果出炉。如果有需要，才会再安排进一步的检查。

grace: do we start now?

grace：那现在就开始吗？

gp: yes, please wait outside for a moment. we’ll start once the nurses have everything set up.

医生：是的，你先外面坐一下，护士准备好了就可以开始了。

grace: all right.

grace：好的。
