If want to ask their working shift, how do the Chinese say "what time do you start?"
For that you can say:Ni3 mei3 tian1 ji2 dian3 shang4 ban1? Ni3 means you. mei3 tian1 means every day. Ji3 means which.dian3, o'clock. So literally ji2 dian3 means which point. Here its meaning is what time. Shang4ban1 is to go to work. xia4 ban1 means get off work.

Ni3 is you.Yi3qian2 means before or previously.Guo4 originally means "go" or "cross".Here it indicates the completion of the action. Zuo4 means to do. zuo4guo means "having done". Shen2me means what. Gong1zuo is job.

you may want to know how long have the other person been working there? you can say : ni3 zai4 zhe4li3 gong1zuo4 duo1 chang2 shi2jian1 le? ni3 is you. zai4 means at. zhe4li here. gong1zuo4 is work or job. duo1 means "much" or "many". chang2 means long. duo1 chang2, how long. shi2jian1, time. le is just a particle.
