生活英语：冷气跳电

vivian was home on the weekend and was planning to take a nap when her air conditioner suddenly broke. due to her inability to tolerate heat, she had to quickly find someone to check it out for her.

vivian打算趁周末在家睡个午觉，没想到冷气机竟然坏掉了，怕热的她急忙找人来检查，到底发生什麼事。

vivian: so what is the problem with my air conditioner?

vivian：请问我的冷气机发生什么事了？

electrician: i’ll have to take it apart and see. was it already broken when you turned it on or did it break after you had it on for a while?

技师：这个要拆下来看一下。请问妳是打开它时就坏掉，还是开了一段时间之后才故障的呢？

vivian: i think it broke after being on for a little more than 10 minutes.

vivian：应该是开十几分钟后才变成这样的。

electrician: did you hear any unusual sound?

技师：有听到什么不正常的声音吗？

vivian: i think i heard a switch click and afterwards the air con stopped working.

vivian：我只是隐约听到有个开关跳起来的声音，之后冷气就不会动了。

electrician: let me check the fuse box then. could you tell me where it is?

技师：那我检查一下电箱。请问电箱在哪？

vivian: it’s in the living room where the painting on the wall is.

vivian：在客厅，墙上有画的地方。

electrician: all right, i’ll go take a look.

技师：好，那我去看一下。

vivian: come this way.

vivian：这里走。

electrician: the fuse box looks fine. i’ve reset it already. why don’t you turn on the air con and see if it works?

技师：嗯，看起来电箱应该没问题，我重新开启电源了，你开开看，看冷气能不能正常运转。

vivian: it’s working now!

vivian：可以了耶！

electrician: i think it’s because the circuit breaker tripped.

技师：应该是跳电的关系。

vivian: what do i do then? do i need to reset the fuse box every time i turn on the air con?

vivian：那怎么办？以后都要这样开吗？

electrician: from now on, don’t use the washing machine when you have the air con on. otherwise, you’ll overload the electrical circuit and cause the breaker to trip.

技师：你以后如果吹冷气时，就不要洗衣服，这样用电量才不会太吃紧，造成跳电。

vivian: i see. thank you!

vivian：了解了，谢谢你！
