Taiwan scriptwriter Chiung Yao has posted an open letter on Weibo, accusing mainland scripwriter and director Yu Zheng of plagiarism.
台湾编剧琼瑶在微博上发表公开信，控诉大陆编剧兼导演于正抄袭。

Chiung Yao claims that Yu Zheng's TV drama(电视剧) The Palace: The Lost Daughter(《宫锁连城》), copied the leading characters(主角) and main storyline(主要剧情) from Chiung's novel Plum Blossom Scar(《梅花烙》） which was made into a TV series with the same name in 1993.
 
In the letter, Chiung lists the similarities(相似点) between the two dramas as evidence（证据), and urged authorities to investigate(调查) Yu's alleged infringements(侵权) to protect her copyrights(版权). She mentioned that she had recently added new material to the original script of the Plum Blossom Scar TV show under plans to create a new show, which were soon brought to a halt(停止) due to the similarities between The Palace and Plum Blossom Scar.

Yu responded on his weibo that the alleged similarities were "unintentional coincidences"(无意的巧合). Yu also stressed that the script of The Palace: The Lost Daughter was presented to Shanghai-based New Image Entertainment, founded by Chiung, for examination and gained approval before filming.
 
This ongoing dispute has drawn intense media coverage(媒体报道) while sparking discussions of alleged plagiarism(抄袭) within the film and TV industry(影视业).
