生活会话──付汽车修理费

ruby’s car broke down last week and was taken to a garage for repairs. today, the garage told ruby that her car was ready to be picked up, so she took a taxi there to pay for the repairs.

ruby上週车子抛锚，送进车厂检修。今天车厂通知ruby去牵车，她坐计程车到车厂準备付修车费。

mechanic: your car is all fixed! come with me. i’ll show you what i’ve done.

技师：妳的车都处理好囉！妳跟我来我跟妳先说明一下。

ruby: okay.

ruby：好的。

mechanic: the reason the car wouldn’t start is that there was a lot of carbon buildup on the intake valves and the fuel line was clogged. the spark plug was also worn out, so i replaced it for you as well.

技师：关於车子发不动的原因，是因為汽阀积碳十分严重，还有汽油管线阻塞，另外火星塞点火效果已经衰减，所以也一併更换。

ruby: i see. what about the air conditioner problem i mentioned last time?

ruby：了解。那上次我提到的冷气问题呢？

mechanic: the system was low on refrigerant. i’ve added some to it to get the pressure up. i’ve replaced the air filter as well. the leaking problem seems to be solved now. you can have a try.

技师：你冷媒的压力已经不足，我增加了冷媒，另外也换了空气滤网了。目前看起来是没有漏气的问题，妳可以再试试看。

ruby: what about the steering wheel?

ruby：那方向盘的部份呢？

mechanic: that problem was more serious. your steering box had been leaking oil and the oil seal had been broken for a long time, so i had to replace everything. however, since they’ve stopped making the car model and there are no new steering boxes available, i could only replace it with a second-hand one.

技师：这个问题就比较大了，妳这台车的方向机已经漏油，油封的部份也已经破裂狠长一段时间，这个部份得全换。不过因為妳的车已经停產，也叫不到新的方向机，只能用中古的来替换。

ruby: was there anything else that needed to be fixed?

ruby：那还有什麼地方需要处理到吗？

mechanic: because i had to move the chassis, i’ve aligned the wheels for you as well. the engine oil and belt have been replaced, too. your car should be fine for another 3 years.

技师：因為动到底盘，我顺道有帮它做四轮定位，也更换了机油跟皮带，我想这台车再开个3年应该不是问题。

ruby: that’s good then. so how much is it altogether?

ruby：那就好。那总共是多少钱呢？

mechanic: that comes to s2235. here’s the invoice. please take a look.

技师：总共的费用是2235元，这是帐单明细，请妳过目一下。
