 (technology) ‘anti-social’? there’s an app for that

(科技) 「不喜交际」？有专o 此设计的app

while most people hail technology for its ability to bring people together through social networks such as facebook, twitter, instagram, foursquare, pinterest etcetera, ‘anti-social’ personality types can now find solace in apps that allow them to maintain social distance.

虽然大多人都讚扬科技能藉由如：脸书、推特、instagram、foursquare、pinterest等等的社群网站将人们团聚一起，但是「不喜交际」个性的人现在可以在能让他们保持社交距离的应用程式中寻求慰藉。

forget ‘find your friends’ – a new app named ‘cloak’ uses public location data to determine where known “friends” of the user are via social networks and then alerts the user when they are nearby. described as a method to, “avoid exes, co-workers, that guy who likes to stop and chat – anyone you’d rather not run into,” the app effectively allows users to leave the area if desired.

把「寻找朋友」丢一旁吧──有个新的应用程式叫做「隐形斗篷」，使用公开地点资讯以找到使用者认识的「朋友」在哪，然后在他们接近时警告使用者。被形容為可「避开前任、同事、喜欢停下脚步聊天的仁兄──任何你不希望碰到的人」，这个应用程式有效地让使用者能够想离开就离开那个区域。

and cloak is not alone in the ‘anti-social’ app niche market. according to nick jones, editor-in-chief of app magazine, “secrecy has its advantages for people,” and apps like ‘secret’ (which broadcasts messages anonymously) or ‘snapchat’ (which deletes photographs and videos just seconds after they are viewed) are gaining in popularity.

而且「隐形斗篷」并不是「反交际」应用程式利基市场中的唯一。app杂誌的主编nick jones指出：「保密特质对人们来说有其利处。」而像是「secret」（匿名发布讯息）或是「snapchat」（阅览过后立即删除相片和影片）这样的应用程式越来越受欢迎。

with personal surveillance on the rise and fear of the proverbial ‘big brother’ gaining media attention, is it any wonder that people are now looking for ways to maintain some sense of privacy?

个人监督的兴起以及对於谚语中「老大哥」的恐惧得到越来越多媒体关注，人们现在开始寻求方式维持一些隐私也不足為奇。
