doreen works at a fashion company in new york, america. she wanted to send some stuff back to taiwan, so she went to the post office today after packing it inside boxes.

doreen在美国纽约的时装公司上班。今天她有一些东西想要寄回台湾，她把东西装箱后，来到了邮局。

doreen: hi! i would like to send some parcels.

doreen：你好！我想要寄送包裹。

clerk: what have you got? just these boxes?

柜台：有哪些东西？是这几箱吗？

doreen: yes.

doreen：是的。

clerk: are you sending them overseas?

柜台：是寄海外吗？

doreen: that’s right.

doreen：是的。

clerk: could you fill out this form for me? do you have american citizenship?

柜台：那你帮我把这个表格填一下。你是美国公民吗？

doreen: no, i’ve only got taiwanese citizenship.

doreen：不是，我是台湾人。

clerk: do you have your passport with you then? i need to record your details.

柜台：那你有护照吗？我这里要纪录一下。

doreen: yes, it’s here.

doreen：有的，在这里。

clerk: could you tell me what’s inside the boxes?

柜台：请问里面装的是什么呢？

doreen: just some clothes, everyday things, and souvenirs for my family. you know, that kind of stuff.

doreen：就一些衣服跟日常用品，还有我要寄给家人的一些纪念品之类的东西。

clerk: do you want to send the boxes by sea or by air? it’ll take about a month by sea and ten days by air.

柜台：那你是要用船运还是航空呢？船运的话大约要一个多月，如果是航空的话大概十天以内就会送到。

doreen: sea is fine.

doreen：我走海运的就行了。

clerk: you don’t have any electronic devices inside, do you? because things like electronics can break easily if they are shipped by sea.

柜台：里面没有什么电器之类的吧？如果走海运可能电器之类的比较容易碰坏。

doreen: i don’t think so.

doreen：应该没有。

clerk: these boxes will be x-rayed in a minute. you can leave once they pass through it. as for the shipping costs, the boxes weigh 8.6kg altogether, which comes to s76.65.

柜台：等会这些箱子要过x光，过了没问题就可以离开了。另外总重是8.6公斤，运费总共是76.65元。

doreen: no problem.

doreen：没问题。
