dora works as a sales representative at an office equipment company, and she is making a call to a prospective client. after getting past the company’s gatekeeper (operator), she is now being transferred to the general affairs department.

dora是一家办公事务机器公司的业务人员，她正打给一个潜在未来客户，她刚刚突破了总机的关卡后，电话转接到了客户的总务部门。

dora: hi, my name is dora. i’m from chun huan public utility.

dora：您好！我这里是群环事业公司，我的名字是dora。

vivian: from what our operator tells me, i believe you have a price quote for me?

vivian：请问妳要报什麼价呢？我听刚刚的总机转述。

dora: sorry, can i get your name first?

dora：不好意思，先请教您怎麼称呼？

vivian: my name’s vivian.

vivian：我是vivian。

dora: vivian, i’d like to recommend our latest all-in-one printer to you. it comes with a very affordable rental service.

dora：vivian是这样的，我们公司最近有2014年最新上市的事务机要推荐给贵公司，其中还包含非常优惠的租赁服务，想提供给贵公司参考。

vivian: but we don’t need it right now! we’ve already signed a contract with another supplier.

vivian：可是我们现在不需要呀！我们已经跟别的厂商签过约了。

dora: yes, given the size of your company, i’m sure you already have a complete set of office equipment and suppliers to take care of your office needs. but our new model is more ink-efficient and offers much better print quality and speed. more importantly, our printer includes a fine dust particle filter, which can help eliminate health risks in the workplace. i mean there’s nothing more important than the health of your staff, right?

dora：这个我了解，以贵公司的规模，一定已经有完善的办公设备跟方案了。不过我们新的机种更节省碳粉，列印品质也更漂亮，列印速度也非常快速，更重要的是我们的机器有空气粉尘过滤机制，能够除去工作场所的健康风险。我想应该没什麼比维护主管与同事的健康更為重要，您说是吧？

vivian: i guess.

vivian：好像也是。

dora: yeah, and we only charge a third of what other suppliers charge for maintenance because our printer is incredibly ink-efficient. if you do the math, the amount of time and money you’ll be able to save on maintenance a year is pretty substantial.

dora：是呀！另外因為我们机器的碳粉用量十分节省，所以维护费也是其它厂商的1/3而已，这样一年算下来，所节省的同仁等待时间与维护成本，应该就狠可观了。

vivian: all right, send me the information on your printer then.

vivian：好吧！那请妳把相关资料寄过来吧！

dora: great, thank you so much. can i have your email address?

dora：好的，非常感谢您，请问您的email是？

vivian: it’s support@edward-english.com

vivian：support@edward-english.com

dora: okay, i’ll send it to you right now. thank you.

dora：好的，我马上為您寄过去，谢谢妳。
