dora works as a sales representative at an office equipment company. her supervisor, jasmine, called her into the conference room today because she often goes wandering outside during working hours, pretending to be visiting clients, and returns to the office just before the end of the day to clock out.

dora是一家办公事务机器公司的业务人员，由於她平时常常藉著去拜访客户的名义，到外面偷閒，等下班时间快到时再回公司打卡。今天，她的主管jasmine把她叫到会议室里。

jasmine: dora, it has come to my attention that you haven’t made any sales over the past two months. what happened?

jasmine：dora，我发现妳这两个月几乎没有业绩，是怎麼回事？

dora: well, the reason there is currently no demand is probably that the clients are all on a tight budget. it should improve next month.

dora：嗯，我想应该是客户预算的问题，所以才暂时没有需求，下个月应该就会好转了吧？

jasmine: how can you be sure that things will get better next month?

jasmine：妳如何能确认下个月会好转呢？

dora: i’ll follow up with our clients again to see if they need anything or if there is anything that needs to be maintained.

dora：我会再追客户看看，看是否有需求或是需要我们提供维护的地方。

jasmine: what about new clients? how many have you found recently?

jasmine：那新客户呢？妳最近开发了多少件？

dora: umm…about ten?

dora：这个，大概有十件吧？

jasmine: only ten in the past two months? and how many of them have you revisited?

jasmine：这两个月以来，妳才拜访了十件？那这十件里妳又重覆拜访了几次呢？

dora: well, i haven’t exactly counted them.

dora：这个……我没有算耶！

jasmine: i just had a look at your client visit log and it seems like you’ve been spending a lot of time outside. in fact, you don’t usually get back to the office until just before the end of the day. would you care to explain what you have been doing all this time and why you’ve only found 10 clients?

jasmine：我刚刚查了外访纪录表，妳几乎每天都往外头跑，却只有开发十个新客户？而且妳每天都快到下班前才进公司，妳外访时到底都在做些什麼？

dora: you know…i’ve been looking for new clients.

dora：我……我在找新的客户。

jasmine: from tomorrow onwards, you have to bring at least four business cards back every time you go out, or you can stay in the office and use the phone to find new clients. if you still haven’t made any sales by the 25th of this month, you can pack up your desk and leave!

jasmine：从明天开始，妳每天出去，一定要带四张客户名片回来，否则妳就待在公司里用电话开发客户。如果妳这个月25号前还是没有业绩，我想妳就做到那时候吧！

dora: all right…

dora：我……知道了。

jasmine: just because you don’t have to stay in the office doesn’t mean you can wander around outside every day. what you’re doing is totally unacceptable! you can go back to your desk now.

jasmine：妳不需要待在办公室里不代表你就能每天在外面乱晃。妳的行為太超过了！妳现在可以回座位了。
