american football is the most popular sport in the us. however, the fact that it is rather violent, with every player being required to wear protective gear when they are on the field, makes it a man’s sport. nonetheless, the sport is about to take on a new meaning this year for a female athlete has joined the texas revolution and the news has attracted wide attention in the country.

美式足球是美国最受欢迎的职业运动项目。由於美式足球十分暴力，每位球员全身都需穿上护具盔甲才能上阵，可说是男人的专属运动。不过就在今年，一切都要改观了，因為有一名女性球员加入了位在德州的革命队，此消息已引起全美国人的热烈关注。

jen welter, who is 36 years old, is only 157cm tall and weighs only 59kg. it is incredible that a person her size can take on the role of running back. during an interview, welter said she joined the league in the hope of bringing more surprises to the spectators and proving that she, too, can achieve what the male athletes have achieved.

36岁的魏尔特，身高仅157公分、体重仅59公斤。这麼娇小的她，竟然还成為革命队跑锋。她接受记者的採访时表示，她会加入这个联盟，主要是希望能够带给观眾更多的惊喜，并且要证明男性球员做得到的，她一样也能做得到。

in actual fact, welter is no plain jane. she has played in a variety of women’s leagues and won two gold medals at the women’s world championship. however, the season has not even begun and she has already become the target of every team, with her being targeted and tackled by many male athletes during the exhibition games. by the looks of things, welter will need to watch out for her own safety during the games. after all, it is not easy being chased and smacked by a bunch of guys when you are only this small.

其实卫尔特并非等閒之辈。她过去就参加过许多业餘的女子赛事，也是美式足球两届女子世锦赛的金牌球员。不过球季还没正式开始，她就已成為各队的箭靶，多次的练习赛她都惨遭许多男球员盯上与擒抱。看来她在球季可要好好保重，毕竟这麼娇小却要被一大堆臭男生穷追猛压，这可不是闹著玩的事。
