生活会话──吃排骨饭

megan is an exchange student from canada. she went to a chinese restaurant near her school today for lunch because she found out that one of the waitresses there, penny, can speak english.

megan是从加拿大来的交换学生，今天她来到学校附近的中菜餐厅吃中餐，因為她发现这家店的店员penny会讲英文。

megan: hi!

megan：妳好！

penny: welcome! what would you like to have today?

penny：欢迎光临！今天想吃什麼呢？

megan: i’ve always wanted to eat here but i’ve been too scared to come because i can’t speak mandarin. today is my first time here!

megan：我一直想来你们这里吃饭，但因為我不会讲中文，所以就一直不敢来，这可是我第一次来这里吃饭呢！

penny: don’t worry about your mandarin. the next time you’re here, just come find me. our signature item is pork chop rice. it’s really tasty!

penny：别担心你的中文啦。下次妳要吃，来找我就行了。我们这里的特色是排骨饭，狠好吃喔！

megan: all right, i’ll have that then.

megan：好呀！那我就点一个排骨饭。

penny: what side dishes do you want? you can choose three from here.

penny：那妳想要吃什麼配菜呢？你可以在这里面的菜色中任选三样。

megan: i’ll have some broccoli, stir-fried dried bean curd and can i ask what this is?

megan：那我要一些花椰菜，还有炒豆干，请问这是什麼？

penny: it’s stir-fried eggplants with fermented black soybeans and some chili peppers. do you like spicy food?

penny：这个是豆豉茄子，我们有炒一点辣椒，妳爱吃辣吗？

megan: not really. i can’t stand them. what about this dish?

megan：这我可能没办法，我怕辣。那这个呢？

penny: it’s bitter gourd with salted eggs. you probably haven’t tried it before.

penny：这是咸蛋苦瓜，妳应该没吃过吧？

megan: is it just regular eggs with salt stir-fried with bitter gourd?

megan：是咸鸡蛋跟苦瓜一起炒的吗？

penny: not quite. salted eggs are made with duck eggs. it’s a traditional taiwanese dish. it goes really well with rice.

penny：这是用鸭蛋做的，咸鸭蛋是我们台湾的传统美食，还满下饭的喔！

megan: okay, i’ll get that then.

megan：好呀！那我就选个。

penny: great! have a seat over there. we have white radish and pork rib soup today. it’s free. you can go over there and pour yourself a bowl. the bowls are right next to the pot.

penny：没问题！妳那里稍坐一下，我们今天有萝卜排骨汤，是免费的，妳可以直接去那里舀来喝，碗就放在锅子旁边。

megan: all right, thank you!

megan：好的！谢谢妳！
