529. 我到了之后再给你打电话.
[误] I'll call you after I will arrive.
[正] I'll call you after I arrive.

注: After, before, until, as soon as, when, and if are not followed by a future tense but by a present tense to indicate a future meaning. 这类词要接现在时态,表将来意思.

注: To say how long before something will happen in the future, use in, not after. In other words, to refer to a period of time that stretches from the moment of speaking/writing to a point in the future, use in. E.g.: Mark will be back in an hour.(一小时后) The assistant manager position will be open in two weeks.(两周后) Auditions for the ballet school will start in two weeks.(两周后)

注: (1) You do something at the age of 50 or at 50 or when you are 50 years of age (not at age 50). (2) The expression is at the age of (with the). (3) However, sometimes in scientific studies, the might be omitted. 在科学研究中,有时 the 会省略掉的. E.g.: I began to study English at the age of two. Kate began to deliver newspapers early every morning at the age of eight. At the age of three weeks, all the experimental rats began to rapidly gain weight.

532(a). Earl的爸爸去世有三年了.
[误] Earl's father died for three years.
[正] Earl's father died three years ago.(三年前死的)
[正] Earl's father passed away three years ago.(三年前死的)
[正] Earl's father has been dead for three years.(已死三年了)

532(b). Samantha 离开台湾有三年了.
[误] Samantha left Taiwan for three years.
[正] Samantha left Taiwan three years ago.(三年前离开的)
[正] Samatha has been away from Tainwan for three years.(已离开三年了) 注: (1) Use ago to say how long before the present time something happened. It is usually used with a past tense, not with a perfect tense.
