The hotel is performing its usual role of providing accommodation to CPPCC delegates and offering spaces for related meetings, but this year it is offering pared-down service, in keeping with government orders.

这家宾馆还像往年一样为全国政协委员提供住宿并为相关会议提供场地，不过，今年他们响应政府规定，提供简化服务。

今年全国两会主打“节俭风”，各驻地都提供简化服务（pared-down service），没有迎接仪式（no welcome ceremony）、没有鲜花礼品（no flowers or gifts），只有简洁的文件袋和会议须知（a small bag of printed materials and meeting agenda），文件传输尽量减少纸张使用（paper use），大部分实现网上办公（online office）。

中共中央政治局2012年12月4日召开会议，审议并一致同意中央政治局关于改进工作作风、密切联系群众的八项规定（an eight-point code to cut bureaucracy and maintain close ties with the people）。规定包括，精简会议活动、改进会风，精简文件简报、改进文风，规范出访活动，改进警卫工作，改进新闻报道，厉行节约，等。
