 Life English – Visiting a Night market (1)

生活会话──逛夜市（1）

Megan is an exchange student from Canada. She went to a night market in Taiwan for the first time today. Having heard that Taiwan has a lot of delicious food to offer, she decided to eat until her stomach bursts.

Megan是从加拿大来的交换学生，今天是她第一次逛台湾的夜市。她以前就听说台湾是一个充满美食的地方，她今天决定好好大吃一顿。

Megan: Excuse me, what is this called?

Megan：请问这个叫什麽？

Stall A: Welcome! This is oyster omelette. It’s made with oysters, sweet potato flour, vegetables and eggs. Our sweet chili sauce is really good! You should try it!

A摊位：欢迎光临！这是蚵仔煎，是用蚵仔加蕃薯粉、青菜还有鸡蛋做的，我们的甜辣酱很好吃喔！嚐嚐看吧！

Megan: Hmm…it looks gooey. I’ll think about it. Thanks anyway.

Megan：嗯，看起来黏黏的，让我考虑一下。谢谢喔。

Stall B: Come in and have a seat! Our minced pork rice is really tasty!

B摊位：裡面坐喔！我们的鲁肉饭很好吃！

Megan: How is it made?

Megan：鲁肉饭是怎麽做的呢？

Stall B: The meat is braised for more than 5 hours using soy sauce, green onions, our exclusive condiment, and also premium pork neck. You can easily eat a couple of bowls of rice with it.

B摊位：我们是用酱油、青葱、加上独家的调味料，再加上上等的猪脖子肉经过五小时以上的炖煮，非常下饭！

Megan: Pork neck? Gosh! Why would anybody eat that? Thank you. I’ll think about it.

Megan：猪脖子肉！天呀！怎麽会有人想吃这个啊。谢谢，我再考虑一下。

Stall C: Come in! Would the beautiful lady like to try some pig’s blood cake?

C摊位：来喔！美女！来吃好吃的猪血糕！

Megan: Is this powdered peanut butter? It smells delicious! I’ll have one then.

Megan：这个是花生粉吗？闻起来好香喔！老闆我来一支。

Stall C: Here you go. It’s good, right? Our pig’s blood cake is really famous here! For a foreigner, you sure have great taste! The pig’s blood we use is extremely fresh for it is taken from the pigs we kill every morning!

C摊位：来，这支给你！好吃吧！我们的猪血糕是这夜市最有名的，你这老外有眼光喔！我们用的猪血，都是每天早上现杀的猪，非常新鲜！

Megan: Wait, did you just say this is made with pig’s blood?

Megan：等会！你说这个是用猪的血做的？

Stall C: Of course pig’s blood cake is made with pig’s blood! And also glutinous rice. I can promise you that there’s no chicken or duck blood in it.

C摊位：猪血糕当然是用猪的血做的呀！再加上糯米蒸煮的！绝没有加啥鸡或鸭的血喔！

Megan: Geez…a little heads-up would have helped! (Turns around and throws the pig’s blood cake in the trash can) Why is it that the popular foods in Taiwan are all so scary!

Megan：天呀！应该先提醒我一下吧！（回头把猪血糕丢到垃圾桶）台湾人爱吃的东西怎麽都这麽可怕呀！
