观光英文──护照过期

Sarah likes to take a long vacation to go backpacking every once in a while. She was planning to fly directly to Korea for a holiday after staying in Japan for two months, however, she found herself stuck at the airport instead because her passport had expired.

Sarah喜欢偶尔休休长假、当个背包客旅行去。这次她在日本待了两个月后，想直接从日本再飞到韩国度假，但因为护照过期而人竟困在机场了。

Airline clerk: Ma’am, I’m sorry but I can’t issue you an air ticket because your passport has expired.

机场柜台：小姐对不起，你的护照过期了，无法帮你开票。

Sarah: What? You’re kidding me! Let me have a look. Oh, you’re right! What do I do then?

Sarah：什麽！不会吧！我看看。还真的耶！那怎麽办？

Airline clerk: You may need to go to the Taipei Economic and Cultural Representative Office in Japan to have your passport reissued.

机场柜台：您可能要到台北驻日经济文化代表处去申请补发喔。

Sarah: Gosh! But I’m here at the airport already, with my luggage, too.

Sarah：天呀！我人都在机场了，行李也带来了说。

Airline clerk: I would suggest that the next time you’re planning to travel overseas, check to make sure your passport is valid.

机场柜台：建议您下次出国时，最好确认一下护照是否过期。

Sarah: Since I’m here at the airport already, can I buy an air ticket first?

Sarah：那我可以先买机票吗？我人都已经来到机场了。

Airline clerk: Not according to regulations. You have to get your passport sorted out before you can purchase an air ticket. Once the problem with your passport is taken care of, you can visit our official website and book a ticket online.

机场柜台：依规定是不可以的。您得先把护照的事处理好了之后，才能再买机票。不过只要您护照的事处理好，只要上我们公司官网就可以直接订票了。

Sarah: All right! I had better go and get my passport reissued. Thanks for your help!

Sarah：好吧！那我赶快去办护照了，谢谢你！
