很多现代人都喜欢在网上晒自己的个人生活，但是也有例外——就是那些只看不评论、不分享个人图片和信息，总是默默飘过的“潜水一族”，英文表达称之为web shy（网络羞涩）。

Web shy refers to unwillingness to expose one's thoughts, feelings or identity on the web, knowing that doing so means freaknobs from Baton Rouge to Bangladesh will know everything about you.

网络羞涩”指的是不愿在网上透露个人的想法、感受或身份，知道这样做会让世界各地形形色色的人洞悉自己的一切。

Example:

A: "Jeez, Paul--you need to get with it! You should create your own web site, post your picture, do some blogging about your beliefs, and generally trumpet yourself and your innermost thoughts via that there Internet."

B: "You kidding me? I am way too web shy for any of that!"

甲：“天啊，保罗，你得行动起来啦！你应该创建自己的个人网页、上传你的照片、写写博客、分享观点，通过网络宣传一下自己和内心深处的想法。”

乙：“开什么玩笑。我可是十足的‘网络羞涩族’！”
