在教其他国家孩子英文的时候，他们都会问我这个问题：ugly sweater? Why do we wear ugly sweater? 我相信大家一定也会有同样的疑问：圣诞节为什么要穿丑的毛衣呢？ 事实上这是圣诞节的一个传统。如果大家有机会来国外过一次Christmas，一定要记得买一件ugly sweater来穿。

 

 我们一起来看看ugly sweater的起源吧：

 

The story goes that in 2001 a few college buddies in Canada got the excellent idea to throw a Christmas party where party-goers would don the most outrageously ugly Christmas sweater. It was a hit. The ugly Christmas sweater party was born, and it spread from there. Now, the time had come for the old ugly Christmas sweaters of the past to come back with a new purpose. No longer were they be a thing to be avoided, but something to be cherished and sought after. The uglier the sweater, the better, and there is generally a prize for the person who wears the most outrageous sweater at most parties.
