see：是指「无意」或「有意」的「看」；若是指「无意地看」，不可用进行式。
-I can see the bus coming.
-I saw a great movie at that theater yesterday evening. (在这裡的 saw = watch)

 

watch：集中注意力看，且持续了一段时间。
-Do you mind if I watch the news?
-The boy likes watching TV after dinner.
注意：「看电影」也可以写成 go to the movies。
「看电影」可用 see 或 watch，但「看电视」就只能用watch。但若是指看电视上的影片，则又可以用 see。
-I usually watch TV in my free time.
-I usually watch/see movies on TV in my free time.
 
look at：把视线转向目标看。(可用进行式)
-Everyone looked at the clown who just walked into the room.
