作为形容词，intense和intensive都是指程度很深的一种状态，它们的区别主要在具体的意思上。

 

 intense有两个主要含义，分别是：

 

a).强烈的，极度的：He was sweating from the intense heat. 极度炎热的天气使他汗流浃背。

 b).非常热情的：The candidate has many intense supporters. 这位候选人有许多热烈的支持者 。

 c).密集的：The military on both sides are involved in intense activity. 两方的军事活动都很密集。

 

 intensive的含义则有下面这几个：

a).密集的： intensive farming 集约农业；

 several days and nights of intensive negotiations 夜以继日的密集谈话

b).特别的，精细的：Hospitals face a potential crisis over the limited number of intensive care beds.特别护理病床 an intensive course in English 英语精读课程 从上面可以看出，intense和intensive都有“密集的”这个相同含义，除此之外各自有其他的不同意思。总的来说，intense是指程度很强，注意力很集中这样的状态，而intensive则强调的是密度很高，在短时间内需要处理大量内容的状态。
