表示承接关系。

 

 E.g. tā 1958 nián dào nóng cūn qù ，

cǐ hòu yì zhí zài nà ér gōng zuò 。

 她1958年到农村去，此后一直在那儿工作。

She went to the countryside in 1958 and has worked there ever since. nà shí wǒ men de guān xi shì zǒu shàng pō lù, cǐ hòu jiù kāi shǐ zǒu xià pō lù le 。

 

那时我们的关系是走上坡路, 此后就开始走下坡路了。

At that time our relations were going upwards, but since then they have been going downwards [downhill].
