What’s time is it? Summertime! Though it's not vacation yet, finally summer is here! And what’s time is it? Ice cream time! Let’s scream for ice cream!

夏季到了，虽没有暑假那么令人激动，好在可以吃各种各样的冰激凌啦~你是不是和我一样激动呢？一起快来看看各种冰激凌的英文吧。

 

冰棍儿：ice pop, freezer pop, ice lolly, popsicle

 

lolly:棒棒糖 = lollipop popsicle: ice cream or water ice on a small wooden stick; an American brand E.g. I had an upset stomach because I ate five popsicle yesterday. 我昨天吃了5个冰棒，然后胃可难受了。

甜筒：ice cream cone

waffle cone 华夫甜筒（本人最爱） waffle: 2) pause or hold back in uncertainty or unwillingness

 E.g.

The boss has waffled on employee benefits.

老板在员工福利上含糊其辞。

 

E.g.

Stop waffling and get to the point!

别说废话了，赶紧切入正题！

 

 chocolate-coated cone 巧克力涂层甜筒

 E.g. I want a waffle cone with two scoops of ice cream.

我想要个双球的华夫甜筒。

 

Scoop: a round deep spoon for serving food, for example ice cream or mashed potato 勺，球形勺

 

圣代：sundae/ It typically consists of one or more scoops of ice cream topped with sauce or syrup（糖浆）.

 According to the Oxford English Dictionary, the origin of the term sundae is obscure; however, it is generally accepted that the spelling "sundae" derives from the English word "Sunday".(Wikipedia) 牛津字典上对“sundae”这一词来源的解释比较模糊，但是人们普遍都认为它是来源于“sunday”一词~（这样想是不是觉得更好吃了呢）

 

E.g. -Excuse me, I want a sundae

. - What topping do you want?

Whipped cream(生奶油), peanuts or maraschino cherries(黑樱桃)?
