1.polite

adj. having or showing that one has good manners and consideration for other people

有礼貌的，客气的；文雅的；上流的；优雅的 同义词 civil，gentle，cultured 反义词impolite，rude，uncivil Examples：

1) I’m afraid I wasn’t very polite to her. 恐怕那时我对她有点不礼貌。

 2) It is not polite to stare at others. 盯着别人看是一种不礼貌的行为。

3) But one thing I do admire is the polite manner in which British people eat, even if it is just a potato. 但是让我非常佩服的是英国人吃饭的举止，哪怕仅仅是一个土豆，他们也会吃得斯斯文文。

 

2.rude

adj. impolite; showing no respect or consideration 粗鲁的；无礼的；狂暴的；未开化的 同义词 ill-bred，ill-mannered，natural，uncivil 反义词 civil，polite Examples：

 1) It’s rude not to say thank you when you are given something. 别人给你东西的时候，你不说谢谢是不礼貌的。

2) He has got no manners. He is rude to everyone. 他这人很无理。他对谁都很粗鲁。

3) It is rude to quarrel with your parents! 和父母亲争吵是一件粗鲁的事情！

 

3.status

 n. one’s legal position or social considered in relation to other people; 地位；状态；情形；重要身分 同义词 condition，position 常见短语 social status (= an accepted or official position) 社会地位 social status=social position, especially in a social group Examples：

 

1) The success of her book has given her unexpected celebrity status. 她的书的成功给他带来了意想不到的名气。

 

2) Wealth in the virtual world of games is a status symbol! 财富，在虚拟的游戏世界是身份的一种象征！
