Name的含义有“名字、名誉”，

1.The name of the game 直译为“游戏的名字”，引申意为“关键/实质”，表示较为重要的事情。例如： Patience is the name of the game in fishing. 钓鱼中耐性是关键。 Success in school is the name of the game for children nowadays. 如今对孩子来说，在学校取得好成绩是非常重要的。

 

2.Make a name for yourself 成名、出名 How do you make a name for yourself without scoring the basketball? 在篮球场上你如果没有得分的强项，如何能有名气呢？

 

3.Someone’s name is mud 某人声名狼藉/臭名昭著 Mud是泥土意思，这个短语的意思即为某人的名声扫地、臭名昭著。 Your name is mud,you can’t use the car for a whole month. 你的信用不良（名声不好），这个月内不许再用车。

 

4.Call someone's names 谩骂某人 It is not polite to call a person’s names. 骂人是不礼貌的行为。
