习语就是这样，形容起事情来恰如其分、趣味横生，让人欲罢不能。五一小长假马上就要到了，在开心的出去嗨之前，先来感受一下这里的快乐因子吧！

 

1. The lights are on but nobody's home 人没在家，灯却开着（形容某人比较笨） 例句： She really has no clue- the lights are on but nobody's home! 她完全弄不清楚状况——太二了！

 

2. When pigs fly 猪都会飞啦（说明某事完全不可能发生） 例句： Yea, right! You will get Taylor Swift to ask you on a date when pigs fly! 是啊，可不么！等猪会飞了你就可以约到泰勒·斯威夫特了。

 

 3. To have Van Gogh's ear for music 对音乐的品味犹如梵高的耳朵（指乐盲、五音不全，<注：梵高只有一个耳朵>） 例句： Xavi really shouldn't play the piano- he has Van Gogh's ear for music. 哈维真不该弹钢琴——他是个乐盲。

 

4. To pig out 似猪八戒吃人参果一般（形容狼吞虎咽地大吃） 例句： After the marathon, the runners pigged out at a dinner buffet. 跑完马拉松之后，选手们来到自助晚餐大快朵颐。

 

5. Everything but the kitchen sink 恨不得包括了厨房的水槽（指所有物品、可以想象到的一切） 例句： Maria was trying so hard to get the question right, she was throwing out everything but the kitchen sink! 玛利亚为了回答那个问题想破了头，想到什么就说什么。

 

6. To put a sock in it 把袜子塞某人嘴里（意思是让某人闭嘴） 例句： Jane was yelling while I was studying so I told her to put a sock in it. 我学习的时候，简在大声说话，所以我让她闭嘴。

 

7. To have a cast iron stomach 铁胃（形容可以尽情吃喝，消化能力强） 例句： I think I would be sick if I ate all that food, but Joe seems to have a cast iron stomach. 吃掉所有那些食物的话我会吃坏肚子的，但乔的铁胃就没有任何问题。

 

8. To drink like a fish 如鱼儿饮水（指豪饮、大口喝酒） 例句： The group at the bar seems to be having a party and you can tell he's the birthday boy because he is drinking like a fish! 酒吧里那伙人似乎在给谁庆生，估计就是那个男孩过生日，因为他一直在豪饮。

 

9. Use your loaf 动动脑子吧（要用脑，要思考） 例句： Come on Parker, use your loaf! I know you can solve this problem! 加油帕克，动动脑子！我知道你肯定能答出来这个问题！

 

10. Finger lickin' good 吮指般的美味（味道好极了） 例句： My mom makes the best steak! It's finger lickin' good! 我妈妈做牛排最拿手！让人食指大动！
