Losing Your License 遗失证件

 

Beth lost her driver’s license. She calls the Motor Vehicles Office, where Jessica works, for help.

贝丝遗失了她的驾照。她打电话到监理所求助，洁西卡在那裡上班。

Jessica: Hello, this is the Motor Vehicles Office, how may I help you?

洁西卡：你好，这裡是监理所，需要什么协助吗？

 Beth: Hi. I lost my driver’s license. What should I do?

贝丝：嗨。我把驾照弄丢了。我应该要怎么做？

 Jessica: You should apply for a new one.

洁西卡：你应该要申请一张新的。

Beth: Don’t I need to report it as lost?

贝丝：我不用掛失吗？

Jessica: No, your old card will be decommissioned as soon as you apply for a new card.

洁西卡：不用，你一申请新证件的同时，旧的那一张就会失效了。 Beth: How do I apply?

贝丝：要怎么申请？

 Jessica: Bring your ID card and two 1-inch photographs down to the nearest Motor Vehicles Office and apply there.

洁西卡：带着你的身份证件还有两张一吋大头照到最近的监理站，在那边申请。

Beth: How many days does it take to issue a new one?

贝丝：发一张新的会花多少天？

 Jessica: You’ll get it on the same day. The process takes less than 30 minutes.

洁西卡：你当日就会拿到了。过程花不到半小时。

 Beth: OK, thank you very much!

贝丝：好的，非常感谢你！
