Tom :  Now, is there any other business?
现在还有别的事吗？
 
Linda :  Mr. Chairman, may I make a point?
主席先生，我可以说几句吗？
 
Tom :  Please go ahead.
请讲吧。
 
Linda :  I propose we establish Mr. Jones as our representative.
我建议委派琼斯先生做我们的代表。
 

商务英语对话2：开会
Tom :  I was the first to take the floor at the meeting.
我是会上第一个发言的。
 
Linda :  Your remark was right on.
你的发言很中肯。
 
Tom :  But my proposal was turned down at the meeting.
但我的建议在会上遭到拒绝。
 
Linda :  Why not speak to the boss this afternoon?
今天下午为什么不和老板谈谈呢？
 
Tom :  What good will that do?
那又有什么用呢？
 
Tom :  He won't change his mind.
他不会改变主意的。

Linda :  The conference is now convened.
会议现在开幕。
 
Tom :  Who will be the first speaker?
谁先发言？
 
Linda :  Now let us ask Professor Wu to speak to us.
