日常英语对话1：表示怀疑

Mary :  Do you want a lift?
你要搭车吗？
 
Tom :  I'm afraid I missed that.
恐怕我没有听清你的话。
 
Mary :  I asked if you wanted a lift.
我是问你是否想搭车。
 
Tom :  Are you sure it's not too much trouble?
你真以为这样不会太麻烦吗？
 
Mary :  No, it won't take a minute to drop you off.
不会，用不了一会儿就能带你到下车的地方。
 
日常英语对话2：表达不满

Mary :  Isn't that lady Susan?
那个女孩不是苏珊吗？
 
Tom :  Yes.
是啊。
 
Mary :  I feel sick of her playing the woman before the boss.
她在老板面前撒娇，真让我觉得肉麻。
 
Tom :  She's known for doing that.
她那样做是出了名的。
 
Mary :  But doesn't she feel cheap?
可她自己不觉得掉价吗？
 
Tom :  Absolutely not.
当然不会了。
 
Tom :  She seems to be very proud of behaving like that.
她好像还很为自己的做法感到骄傲呢。
 
日常英语对话2：表达同情

Mary :  You looked worried.
你看上去很焦虑。
 
Tom :  I just got a letter saying my brother is in the hospital.
我刚收到一封信，说我兄弟住院了。
 
Mary :  I'm sorry to hear that.
听到此事我很难过。
 
Mary :  Hope it isn't serious.
希望不太要紧。
 
Tom :  The letter didn't say.
信中没有说。
 
Mary :  Well, don't worry too much about it. I'm sure things will come out all right.
好了，不要为此事过分操心。我相信事情会好的。
